Commissioning Activities Begins for Sabic/ExxonMobil Texas JV Project September 21, 2021
Sabic said over the weekend that its Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV) 50:50 petrochemical joint ventures with ExxonMobil near Corpus Christi, Texas, has begun commissioning activities ahead of its planned startup in Q4 2021.
The project includes a 1.8 million tonne/yr Ethane steam cracker, which the company said back in July is expected to be delivered under budget and approximately 25% less than the average cost of similar projects along the US Gulf Coast. When completed, GCGV will produce 1,100 kt/yr of MEG and 1,300 kt/yr of PE with ExxonMobil serving as the site operator.
