Baystar Bringing Resin Unit Back Online Following Maintenance October 08, 2021
Baystar/Bayport Polymers is bringing one of its resin units back online at its Pasadena, TX facility after a planned maintenance shut down.
The company said in a community update that it was beginning the process of restarting one of its process units after the planned maintenance shutdown, which would require flaring as part of plant operations for the process.
The Pasadena plant is expected to start up a new Polyethylene (PE) plant in Q1 2022 with a production capacity of 625,000 mt/year of HDPE. The plant will use Borstar technology and more than double the company's site's PE capacity to 1.1 million mt/year after the start-up.
